The Ministry of National Defense issued a press release regarding of "taking over the position of Air Force Command". (February 26th, 2018)

Today (26th), The Ministry of National Defense claimed that under the President’s approval, the duty of the General commander of the Air Force Command will be transferred to the deputy commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Zhang Zhe-ping, and he will be promoted to Vice General of the Air Force that will be effective at March 1st, 2018.

The Ministry of National Defense further stated that Zhang Zhe-ping graduated from the 71st class of the Air Force Academy and the 93rd class of the War College. He had been served as wing commander, director of the Air Force Command Planning Department, general of Political Warfare and commander of the Air Force Combat Command, has excellent education and work experience. In the current position, he led major tasks such as the training and exercise and the planning and establishment of the combat power of the Air Force. With his contributions, he is promoted as he commander of the Air Force, rely on his extensive experience to keep promoting all the tasks required to build and rectify the army.

The resume of the new Air Force Command Zhang is listed as follows:

Education: The 71st class of the Air Force Academy, the 82nd class of Air College and the 93rd class of the War College.

Experience: Air Force 499th Wing Commander, Assistant Deputy Minister of Combat Planning Office, director of the Air Force Command Planning Department, general of Political Warfare and commander of the Air Force Combat Command.
